Mr. Francis Okomo-Okello is the Chairman of Barclays Bank of Kenya Limited and the Executive Director in charge of Legal and Corporate Affairs at Industrial Promotion Services Group of Companies operating in East Africa (IPS). IPS is an affiliate of the Aga Khan Fund for Economic Development (AKFED).

He is also Group Chairman, TPS Eastern Africa Limited - Serena Group which is a collection of luxury Hotels, Resorts & Safari Lodges and a Non-Executive Director, Nation Media Group Limited (NMG) among others. He chairs the NMG Board Editorial Committee.

Mr. Okello has an active professional interest in Corporate Governance and Environmental Issues. With respect to the latter, Mr. Okello has developed a particular interest on Environment and Sustainable Development as a subject but with a focus on “Lender Liability” within the overall context of the role of Banks in promoting compliance with environmental laws, a subject on which he has published and lectured widely.
