Dr. Monica Kerretts-Makau holds a PhD in Public Policy and Regulation from the University of New South Wales- Australia and an MSc from Salford University-Greater Manchester and a BA Cum Laude from Daystar University-Kenya.

Her work experience combines both Government and Private sector. Her most recent position was Advisor to the Regulator –Government of Rwanda (2008-2009) and Advisor to Telecom Ministry –Government of Southern Sudan (2007). She also held the position of Regional Anglophone Africa Coordinator for the ITU –Centre of Excellence during its re-establishment at AFRALTI –Kenya.

Her Management position in the private sector include KPMG – Regional Knowledge Management Manager (EA), Knowledge Systems Analyst –KPMG KM Group - Australia and Standard Chartered Bank –Institutional Banking Manager –Kenya.

Her areas of specialisation are Public Policy and Regulation and Communications Management.
