Strathmore Business School cannot fulfill the required training needs with its current facilities and infrastructure. Student demand for the various programs offered by SBS far outstrips its current capacity of 120 students. There is therefore urgent need for SBS to construct adequate facilities to house the business school.
The SBS Langata Campus is designed to go beyond current world-class business school standards by incorporating environmentally friendly features. The building is being constructed in keeping with the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification, which is a 'Green Building' rating system used in the USA. It provides a suite of standards for environmentally sustainable construction. Apart from the LEED certification, the new building will be easily accessible to people in wheelchairs through ramps, lifts, special tables for them in classrooms and washroom facilities suitable for them.
Our objectives for this initiative are:
A call to action
Construction works for the new SBS Langata Campus are scheduled for completion by the end of 2010. SBS would like to involve the business community and well wishers locally and internationally in this project. Toward this end, a fundraising campaign has been organized to co-ordinate the activities leading to the successful completion of the new campus. To participate please write an email to sbsdean@strathmore.edu.
